Hello Families of MHS & LES,

Welcome Back!  I'm very excited to start another school year and it was great to see all the students today!

I know you all received a welcome back letter from the TRSU Nurses, and I just wanted to add a few things to that as well as remind you about a few things that may be specific to LMH schools.

Testing is available for students this year.  Please fill out the consent form attached and return either on paper or electronically.  If you do not want your student tested, then there is an option "no, please do not test my child", or you could simply not return the form to me.  The testing will be for symptomatic students with consents on file. If you need a paper copy, let me know and I will send it home with your child.

If you need any testing supplies for home, please reach out and I will send home with your child or leave at the main office for pick up.

Here is a link of information on the Monkey Pox vaccine from the VT Dept of Health that they wanted me to share with you all:

If someone in your home tests positive for covid, please report it to the VT Dept of Health using this link:

If your child tests positive at school, I report to a different organization called Simple Report that you would be notified from.  And of course I will call you.

This year the focus for schools is less on contact tracing and notifications (I'm sure you're all sick of those repeated letters from last year) and more on prevention, such as hand washing and vaccines.  And as you've heard over and over, please keep your child home if they are sick!  If they become sick at school, you will be contacted to pick them up.  They cannot return to school unless their symptoms have improved and they have not had a fever for 24 hours without the use of medication.  Please reach out if you have any questions about that.

I split my time between both schools equally and my schedule is the same as last year:

M/W/F  7:30-11:00 MHS

             11:30-3:00  LES

T/TH      7:30-11:00 LES

               11:30-300 LES

If you ever need to reach me, it is best to do that via email, but I do have my office numbers listed below.

If you have not completed your return to school paperwork electronically via powerschool, specifically the annual health questionnaire, please do that if you can as soon as possible so I have the most updated information on your child.

Here's to a great year!

Thanks,

Kristin
